The Springbrook Mountain Yoga Retreat facility borders on beautiful rainforest with an abundance of native birds and beautiful gardens where peace and calm prevail!

Enjoy easy walks to running streams and the waterfall which has the most breathtaking outlook across the valley and ranges. This high energy location on top of the mountain only 1.5 hours from Brisbane is a perfect hide-away to rejuvenate. NonShare rooms are a valuable bonus.

GETTING THERE

  • Approximately one & three quarter hours from Brisbane City, or less than one hour from the Gold Coast, Queensland Australia.
  • From Brisbane on the Gold Coast Highway, turnoff at Exit 69 (Nerang). This route eliminates the winding road that Exit 79 presents. Follow the signposts to Springbrook …. there is a left turn to be taken after you pass the Hinze Dam, which is signposted Springbrook’.
  • Alternative route – from Brisbane on the Gold Coast Highway, turnoff at Exit 79 (Mudgeeraba). This route winds quite extensively up to the top of the mountain.
  • At the top of the mountain there is a fork in the road.
  • Travel a further 5kms from this fork.
  • Take a right turn into the Theosophical Society Retreat driveway. Follow the signs to the Retreat Centre car park.

CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY

Payments are non-refundable. However, if cancellation is received 1 month prior to the event, the payment (less a cancellation fee – 30% of total retreat value) will be held in credit for 12 months, to be used at a future Sunshine Yoga event. A replacement person will be accepted.

It is highly recommended you have travel insurance in case of any unforeseen circumstances that require you to cancel. Sunshine Yoga & Health can arrange the insurance as a complimentary service – approximate cost is $60.

 

NATURAL THERAPIES

This is an add-on service for additional nourishment and wellbeing. This year we are providing you with Thai Massage. The very lovely and experienced Dani will be providing 1-hour treatments. She is very passionate about the therapy she practices. Booking an appointment with Dani prior to the retreat is advisable. Private Health Insurance claims can be made. The cost is $85 per hour.

ITINERARY

Sunshine Yoga & Health’s program is varied and interesting. We offer a more gentle and slow approach. Focus on conscious breathing flows through every moment of your sessions.

The subtle release work to clear the body and mind of tension and toxins is also anintegral part of Lyn’s unique style. It is through this release work and slowing down the whole of the yoga practice that allows the body to build sustained strength and energy and the mind to remind focussed and calm.

You are encouraged to work at your own pace and attune to your own body’s needs – which does change from moment by moment, day by day, week to week.

Free time, silence time and fun time create the perfect balance for this fulfilling weekend you are about to experience.

DAY 1

3.00 to 4.00pm         Registration, settle in to your room and have a cuppa

8.30pm                      Meditation before bed. Silence until breakfast

 

DAY 2

7.00am                      Energisation exercises outside on grassed area and a quick bush walk to the waterfall

9.30am to 12.30pm  Tension and tightness release exercises, pranayama, meditation and guided relaxation

Lunch& FreeTime    

3.30 to 5.30pm         A flowing yoga routine with yoga nidra

Dinner

8.00pm                      Meditation before bed

 

DAY 3

7.00am                      Tai Chi Warmups outside on grassed area

Breakfast

9.30am to 12.30pm  Yoga and the Psoas Muscle, pranayama, guided meditation

Lunch& Free Time   

3.00pm                      Afternoon Tea

3.30 to 5.30pm         Qi Gong, chakra yoga session, guided relaxation

5.30 to 6.30pm         Lyn’s surprise – something different

8.00pm                      Meditation before bed

 

DAY 4

7.00am                      Energisation exercises

Breakfast and Pack up

9.30 to 11.45am       Flowing movement, yoga and breath, a guided relaxation and farewell circle.

12noon                      A cuppa and bite to eat before heading down the mountain

REQUIREMENTS

  • Yoga mat (rubber non-slip 6.2mm thick available from Sunshine Yoga $40)
  • Bolster if you use one – there are cushions and blankets at the centre
  • Comfortable loose-fitting clothing for yoga
  • Comfortable casual clothing – warm jumpers/wind breaker for September – it is cooler up the mountain
  • Walking shoes

ACCOMMODATION

  • The Springbrook Theosophical Retreat Centre offers single room accommodation. This is an invaluable bonus to you and enhances the overall benefits you will receive from your retreat. However, there are two double rooms available for couples.
  • It is ideally situated, nestled on top of the mountain in isolation, surrounded by nature and filled with birdsong.

  • Breakfast can be millet porridge, scrambled eggs, fruit salad and yoghurt … and more
  • Lunch can be salads, quiche, steamed vegies, vegie burgers, soup … and more
  • Dinner can be soup, vegie/potato/sweet potato bake, baked vegies with rice, lentil sausage rolls and healthy desserts … and more
  • Fresh produce and organic where possible
  • Mostly non-dairy and non-gluten
  • Tea, coffee, herb teas
  • Full cream cows milk, goats milk, almond and coconut milk
