Fitness Level: medium to high
In May 2018 a small group of seven travelled to Nepal. This was a first visit for us all. What an amazing journey! Every day presented a ‘wow’ factor.
The experiences were extreme, with contrasts from truly inspiring to truly confronting. “However”, Lyn says, “it is contrasts that move us through life and create learning and expansion. I must say I returned home with changes deep inside my being not experienced with such depth from other tours I have been on”.
She goes on to say “A country such as Nepal, which seems to have so little, has in fact so much in many aspects. I found myself in a state of quiet, slow paced, being in the moment. I felt a deep sense of appreciation, gratefulness and acceptance.” Lyn continues, “Yes, there is extreme poverty and corruption. However, once we were out of Kathmandu, and were opened up to country Nepal, it was an extreme delight to be amidst the Nepalese people who we found to be so very kind, caring and thoughtful, trustworthy and honest and hardworking. It was an honour to walk together.”
Although age is not really relevant, the group ranged from 36 to 72 – and everyone managed the trek, along with all the adventures included in the tour. We ended our journey at the Ayurveda Health Home in Pokhara which was incredibly inspiring, educational and informative. We left feeling healthy, energised and well prepared to return home. A very valuable and special addition to our overall experience.
I hope you are ready and able to come on the next amazing journey to Nepal—October 2019.
